Backblaze is really just meant to backup files like, movies, pictures, documents etc.

So since you can't create an actual system image with this type of backup software backing up your program folders wouldn't provide any real benefits for most programs.Īlso backing up folders like C:\windows really doesn't do any good either for the same reason listed above. Backblaze, Crashplan, and Carbonite don't allow backups of your systems actual OS/Programs. It would take less than 5 minutes in a debugger to figure out why this is failing.I'm not aware of any way around that. That log line means about 1 million things worked, and this one copy did not.

It is either the installer / auto-updater is not running with the correct permissions., or Windows changed the permissions on a folder, or anti-virus is messing with the installer. Be sure to include that in your help ticket. This helps Backblaze find the “pattern” as to why it works in QA and works for many customers, but not you and certain other customers. So try to be super specific as to what anti-virus you are running, what firewalls, and what Windows release. It could be an interaction with certain Windows releases, or Windows firewalls. It was a ton of moving parts and I have no idea why Backblaze made the change, but it changed. One of the things Backblaze changed is where the auto-update is downloaded from. I'm not sure if the installer is deleting unpacked files on exit or if they are not being unpacked properly. I've checked the path and it exists, but the only file in it is "bzdoinstall.exe". So I tried redownloading the client from Backblaze and installing.

So I got a pop up asking me to update Backblaze tonight, which I did.
